Chairman of The Supreme Council

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed ibn Naif ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, The Interior Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences.

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed ibn Naif ibn Abdulaziz was born in Jeddah on 30th August 1959 and is the second son of the late Prince Naif ibn Abdulaziz – May God have mercy upon him.

 He received his early education in Riyadh and thereafter traveled to the USA graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1981. He then worked in the private sector in Saudi Arabia until 1999.

His Royal Highness has also received advanced military based training and education connected to security affairs and counter-terrorism both outside and inside Saudi Arabia.

In May 1999 His Royal Highness was appointed by Royal decree as the Deputy of the Interior Minister of Saudi Arabia.

A Royal Decree was also issued granting His Royal Highness membership in the Supreme Council for Media in the Kingdom.

In June 2004 a Royal Decree was issued appointing His Royal Highness as Assistant to the Interior Minister for Security Affairs.

During the work of His Royal Highness in the Ministry of Interior alongside his father, the late Prince Naif, he gained a vast amount of experience and knowledge in effective administration and execution of affairs within the work of the Ministry; these skills were further refined by his close work with His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed ibn Abdulaziz – former Minister of Interior.

Through these factors, and the sincerity of His Royal Highness in benefiting and protecting the people, Prince Mohammed ibn Naif ibn Abdulaziz has amassed a high level of knowledge and experience in security based work and administration – which is without doubt reflected in his great achievements which have been recognized by all – and will further advance the security sector in Saudi Arabia and help the international fight against crime.

His Royal Highness administered and conducted the biggest development and advancement operation of the structures and functions of vital security sectors in the Interior Ministry of Saudi Arabia.

He was awarded the King Abdulaziz Medal - First Class, in September 2009.

He is distinguished by his concern for the nation – made especially apparent in effectively facing the greatest challenge in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – terrorism – and in  his care and concern for the families of the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives in combatting it.

His Royal Highness has been targeted by a number of assassination attempts – the last of which was in August 2009; His Royal Highness escaped with only minor injuries.

He established the first world center of its kind for the correction and rehabilitation of individuals indoctrinated by terrorist ideologies which was named “The Prince Mohammed bin Naif Center for Counseling and Care.” This center aims to correct individuals holding terrorist views by teaching them correct ideologies by discussion and debate – following the correct Islamic way – and also caring for and advising the families of these individuals.

His Royal Highness has received international praise for his efforts and achievements in fighting terrorism.

In November 2012, a royal decree was issued appointing His Royal Highness as the Minister of Interior of Saudi Arabia.  

He was appointed as the President of the Supreme Council of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences in November 2012.
