Pursuant to its policy of self-development and to cope up with the ever renewing occurrences at all levels, NAUSS established its College of Strategic Sciences (CSS). The College is indeed an important qualitative addition to the already existing colleges and centers of the University especially when placed within the context of the developments in the domain of issues on strategic planning that were not accompanied by systematic academic teaching. Currently, emphasis is put on studies and researches conducted at the level of research centers, rather than on colleges that graduate strategists qualified enough to undertake planning duties under the umbrella of serious strategic work.
NAUSS, however, carried out a comprehensive survey at centers and universities involved in teaching strategic studies. Further, field visits to many countries concerned with the issue provided the University with the opportunity of adding to its experience in this vital area of knowledge. Consequently, it became crystal clear that there is dire need for founding such a College.
As it is the only College of its kind in the whole Arab world, it will be a distinguished asset to University education in this part of the world. NAUSS will surely do its best, under the kind guidance and patronage of his HRH Prince Naif Ibn Abdul Aziz, Minister of the Interior and NAUSS's Chairman Board of Directors to promote this college to the standard of realizing his ambitions and those of his colleagues their Highness and Excellencies the Arab Ministers of the Interior in institutionalizing and proliferating genuine learning of strategies and futuristic studies from a comprehensive security perspective. However, the college will commence its teaching programs as from the 2nd semester.
