This diploma is taught over two academic years; there are four levels, each level requires one academic semester of study.
New students join at a beginner's level of language and progress through the program to intermediate and advanced levels of language learning. The course introduces students to the target language using simple and interesting everyday topics. In the second year of the diploma, at higher intermediate and advanced language levels, students are taught specialist security terminologies and how to understand their uses in security related linguistic contexts. Students are also taught how to apply these terminologies in written and spoken form.
The following subjects are taught within the diploma:
- Listening and speaking
- Reading
- writing
- Grammar
- Morphology and vocabulary building.
- Security terminologies (diploma levels 3 and 4)
At the present time, the English Language Diploma in Security Sciences is the only diploma taught in the college; separate language diplomas in security terminologies for the remaining languages - French, Hebrew and Persian will be included in the near future. Each diploma will be of the same duration and will have the same general structure.
