The first session of the scientific conference of Red Crescent organized by NAUSS in association with the Red Crescent and Red Cross organizations in the Arab world and international civil defense and protection organizations was held on Monday the 9th of January 2012 at NAUSS's campus. The session was attended by Mr. Vladimir Kuvshinov, the deputy secretary general of ICDO and Professor Abdulaziz ben Sagr Alghamdi, the president of NAUSS .Other attendees included representatives of the above mentioned organizations and Arab ministries of interior, social affairs and municipal affairs.
The key addresses were delivered by Dr. Abdulla ben Mohamad Alhazaaa the secretary general of Arab Red Crescent organization, Brigadier Abdullah ben Saeed Alsuwaidi on behalf of participants and Professor Abdulaziz ben Sagr Alghamdi, the president of NAUSS. In his speech, Professor Alghamdi outlined the strategy of NAUSS and its track record over the last few years. He stressed the importance of the conference as a tool for exchanging experience and new ideas to promote peace and security at the local and international levels .At the end of his speech, the president thanked HRH prince Naif the crown prince, minister of interior and president of the supreme council of NAUSS and the council of Arab ministers of interior for their unconditional support of NAUSS.
In a press statement, the public relations department of NAUSS stated that the main topics of the 3-day event include but are not limited to the role of these civil organizations in economic and social development plans and in volunteering projects. Expert papers focused on environmental protection, crisis management, the legal framework for the humanitarian activities of civil society and the training needs of the youth will also be discussed during the three sessions of the conference.
