Symposium on Traffic in Humans

​NAUSS in association with UNHCR and the Interpol held a symposium on traffic in humans on   the 21st of January 2012 at its campus. Professor Abdul Aziz Alghamdi, the president of the university was quoted as saying that the symposium fulfills part of NAUSS’s mission directives as spelled out by HRH the crown prince Naif, the second deputy premier, minister of interior and chairman of the supreme council of NAUSS and their Excellences the Arab ministers of interior. Professor Alghamdi thanked the Interpol and UNHCR for their active part in organizing the event and their continued support for NAUSS activities.

Dr. Ronald Noble the secretary general of Interpol expressed his appreciation for the leading role of NAUSS in the area of international peace and security and stressed the need for furthering cooperation between the two organizations on the basis of their   common concerns and commitments and due to the fact that Professor Alghamdi is a member of Interpol’s consultancy group.

The topics of the symposium are focused on the social, legal and political aspects of the problem and aims at the enhancement of the capacities of Arab jurists and law enforcement bodies in combating and preventing traffic in humans .Attendees of the symposium include but are not limited to professionals from Arab ministries of Justice, Interior, Labor and Social affairs in addition to Interpol and media personnel.
