Naïf Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) will host dynamics of Second Meeting of Personnel on Quality in Saudi Universities during the period: 20 – 22/11/1430 A.H. This corresponds to 8 – 10/11/2009 A.D. Two Meeting will convene at the University premises in Riyadh.
In highlighting its relative importance, Dr. Ibrahim Ali Al-Dakhail, Director, Department of Quality and Academic Accreditation, Naif Arab University, has thus expressed:
The importance of the Second Meeting of Personnel on Quality in Saudi Universities stems from the need to maintain compatibility with the changes that the world has witnessed. These changes, in a way, bear consonance to the mission carried by universities. This mission points to the value of attaining common objectives. Included in the spectrum are endeavours to surmount obstacles that impede the applications of quality in Saudi universities. Also, it will provide exchange of experiences among universities. The central intent is to access constructive practices in the broad of quality management at Saudi universities. Also, it will promote strategic partnership between two Ministries –––– Higher Education and General Education. In the long run, it will assure productive outputs. In addition, it will assist in operationalising recommendations concluded by the First Meeting on Quality in Saudi Universities. In the dynamics of the present Meeting, representatives of Higher Education sector –––– directors, heads of departments, experts and advisors –––– will contribute with their participations.
Dr. Ali Al-Dakhil also explained that the given Meeting will expound on important subjects: the latter are in order:
-Construct of Quality in Higher Education: Strategies and Performance Assessment
-Experiment on the Design and Draft of Study Plan
-Quality of General Education as Factor Towards Progressive Quality in Academic Accreditation at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
-Factors Contributing Towards the Progression of Academic Accreditation
Last but not the least, the Meeting will provide experiences of Saudi universities. These will be amplified in research papers to be presented at the Meeting.
Dr. Al-Dakhil stressed that the selection of Naif University as host is the privilege linked with the effective role that Naif University is playing in the broad area of quality and academic accreditation. In rendering this role, the University is representing as an academic organ of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers.
