On Monday, 7/11/1430 A.H., the dynamics of seminar commenced. The seminar –––– Communication Channels: Reality and Expectations –––– was organized by Studies and Research Center (SRC), Naif Arab University for Security Sciences. It was held at University premises during the period: 7 – 9/11/1430 A.H. –––– 26 – 28/10/2009 A.D.
The organization of above seminar stems from the recognition by the University that communication represents a key factor towards enhancing coordination among various organs of security concern throughout the Arab World. Also, it represents a basic determinant to advance a joint Arab security action. Further, it serves as an essential medium in all academic activities programs and joint Arab conventions that take place at periodic intervals. In substance, it assumes the status of connecting factor in multifarious areas of security concerns. No wonder, Naif Arab University for Security Sciences has assigned priority attention to this areas in both of its organs –––– Studies and Research Center (SRC) and Training College (TC).
This seminar was attended by pertinent personnel associated with two Ministries –––– Ministry of Interior and Justice –––– of all Arab countries.
This seminar sought to accomplish objectives through the basic themes that it presented. These themes are as under:
1. Reality of Communication Channels in Arab Countries.
2. Importance of National Linkage with Communication Channels
3. Development of Interactions Among Communication Channels: Arab and Global
Among the manifold objectives cherished through this seminar, the most decisive are:
1. Elevation of personnel skills in communication channels;
2. Identification of the role played by the modern technology in performance towards communication channels;
3. Exposition on the tasks carried by communication channels; and
4. Countering obstacles that impede the facilitation of communication channels.
It is important to conclude that NAUSS has worked on this seminar as an academic organ of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers. It has played this role within the broader framework of Arab security strategies. The latter stems from the Sixth Arab Security Framework Plan.
